Additional Info:
Back Up Alert Technology (BAT) combines both Audible and Visual warnings to help you back your vehicle with confidence. When vehicle is put in reverse, any objects that enter the rear detection zone (1-6 feet) will result in an audible warning beep from the B.A.T. system. The frequency and pitch of the beep increases as the object(s) get closer to the rear of the vehicle. The digital display simultaneously shows the actual distance to the nearest object in feet or meters. Another LED indicator identifies whether the object(s) is nearest to the left or right sensor(s).
Back-up Alert Technology ( B.A.T.) uses ultrasonic sensors to provide non contact presence, proximity, and distance measuring. The sensors are capable of detecting objects made of practically any material. They work in dry, dusty environments and are not adversely affected by falling rain, sleet or snow. The weatherproof sensors mount on or near the rear bumper of the vehicle and are connected by a shielded cable to the B.A.T. systems main control module. When the vehicle is put into reverse gear, each sensor starts to transmit a short burst of ultrasonic sound toward a specific target area. Any object(s) that enter into the target area reflect the sound back to the sensor. The B.A.T. system then measures the time for the echo to return to the sensor and computes the distance of the vehicle from the object(s). This information is then transmitted wirelessly via Radio Frequency to the LED Digital Display mounted in the drivers cabin area.
